Professing My Love...

In a world full of uncertainty...there are very few things these days that I am absolutely certain about.

I know for sure, without a doubt, that sitting at home watching any Kardashian show will fizzle some brain cells.

I know for sure, without a doubt, that Starbucks is one of the only drugs that is still legal, along with cigarettes, because they are equally addicting.

I also know that eating several different desserts every night, in fascinating combinations (pumpkin pie cake, leftover Halloween candy, and rocky road ice cream) will certainly and indiscreetly give you an extra 5lbs to haul around each day.

But perhaps this is the most important certainty of all...

I know that starting your day with a Yoga Sculpt class at CorePower will undoubtedly higher your self-esteem 4 notches.

As you can tell, there are many things I love, and the things I love are the only things I am certain about--yoga sculpt is one of them.  There is no other class on Earth you can attend that will give you the mental and physical sweat/rehabilitation like that of yoga sculpt. Now, I can't say that I am entirely energetic afterwards....we will see what I do with the rest of my day. But I know that I worked hard...for God sakes, my legs are still twitching. And knowing that you did at least one productive thing today, for your mind and body, is a jumpstart from where I was earlier eating Apple Pie a la mode while watching Heavyweights (believe me, I didnt see the irony until about half way through, and at that point, you better just keep doing what you enjoy).

So here is my call to all the women (or men) who have had a little too much pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving holiday (keeping in mind the Christmas treats are looming)...get your ass off the couch, quit watching Elf for the thousandth time, and take a free Yoga Sculpt class at CorePower (or your local yoga studio).  It will change your life! Or at least you waistline for the holidays.  No but seriously, YOUR LIFE!!!

I love you YS.

Something To Do While Doing Something

There is no denying it. Whether you have been a fan for a long time, or you were reluctantly forced to watch it because your best friend cant take repeating her favorite quotes from this week's episode anymore while you have your "WTF" face on, no matter the SITCH, we heart Jersey Shore. But let's be honest, waiting through the some-odd 15 commercial breaks that occur within the aired hour can be a little aggravating and make fellow shore-watchers around feel antsy...awaiting anxiously to see the next spot Ronnie posts up to let a big cry out. So this wonderful website has creatively conjured a nice little game to take up the time between Shoretime and Xenadrine commercials. The Jersey Shore Drinking Game. Ta Dahhhh. So check it out, try it, and hopefully your next T-shirt time can be even more entertaining than it already is. And for more great things that make you chuckle, visit http://betcheslovethissite.com/.It's amazing.

This is why I just know Lauren Conrad and I were separated at birth, or meant to be best friends, or something like that. She completes me.

ANDDDDDD we're back

It's been nearly a year. A lot has happened in my life and fortunately and unfortunately for Chi cerca trova, I have been spending most of my time vamping up my other music blog, MusteredBeats. However I am here today to break the ice, and talk about what I really have been itching to chat about for eons. Fashion. Today's daily shoutout is to Ashley Tisdale, for anything and everything in her wardrobe I am dying to have. Today, its all about blast off baby! Check out these nasty silver nike hightops reminiscent of some Nasa space-gear. Searched high and low for these bad boys, still no dice. But I am certain that my peeps over at Nike will most definitely release this pair and pairs like these to those of us less able to do some serious product placement.

Solid Gold

Originating from cold and snowy Minneapolis, MN, this trio has found something to warm up to besides a fire. Having just released their EP Synchronize this past January, these guys are coming onto the scene fast. Classifying their sound as electro/glam/rock, these guys produce a nice, warm synth-groovy sound that is smooth, refreshing, and unique. Great for an easy-listening afternoon or for your Friday-night pre-going out jam. You can also check out Solid Gold at this year's SXSW in Austin. Here's a taste of the new EP with "Synchronize". Two thumbs up for Minnesota's Indie Rock group.

So So Modern

Four-piece So So Modern have been over in New Zealand, working on their debut album Crude Futures, which will be released on March 1. Featured is the release of their video for their single "Worst is yet to come" which gives fans just a glimpse of what Crude Futures has to offer. Halloween seems far around the corner, but the quartet seem to be planning for it far in advance with this werewolf-like girl and the costumes they wear themselves. These guys are knocking down all the walls with their open-platform performance music. Challenged by radical ideas and inspired by the theatrics of performance, these guys are something new that will be sure to make your head turn.

Blogworthy: imboycrazy

If there is one person out there that is real and tells it like it is, its 'imboycrazy'. Not kidding...this chick rocks. Whatever kind of day you are having, she can make it better. Hilarious, down to earth, and unforgiving. I have spent countless hours reading back through some of her earlier posts instead of doing some homework for investments or reading for senior seminar. Everything she touches on are the topics that everyone else is too afraid to talk about and put insight into. Worth looking into fersher.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner at Tiffany's

While Friday nights usually consist of cosmos to start the night off, hours of getting ready to go out, small-talk with acquaintances at the bars followed by serious shot-taking to dull the awkwardness, and ending with a long walk home only to find out the next morning everything previously in your possession now belongs to your fellow Boulder blackoutees...I decided that my Friday nights need a change of scenery. While I have always known of Audrey Hepburn and Breakfast at Tiffanys, and while I had always wanted to see it, the box next to it on my to-do list remains unchecked. I felt like I was doing womanhood an injustice by not having experienced the movie, so I took care of it. And what did I think? Did it change my life like I though it had all previous viewers? All I can say, man that girl has got it. There's nothing like sipping some Celestial Seasoning's Sleepytime tea, cuddled up on the couch watching a 1950s flick. And I'm glad it was with Audrey. Now I finally see what has been the hustle-bustle around Audrey and why she deserves it. This woman, owner of her 20in. waist, revolutionized fashion in Hollywood. While most girls in the 50's were sweater girls flaunting big hair and big bras, Audrey was going in a different direction sporting capri pants, cinched shirts, turtlenecks, and ballet flats. Rivaling fellow starlet Marilyn Monroe, Audrey introduced a style of clean lines and simplicity. But however simple it was, she knew how to work it. Not only did she have great style, she knew how to pick styles and clothing that complimented her tall and thin frame. Men's button down shits, trench coats, turtlenecks, pearls, white and black gloves, pixie bangs, ballet flats, sashes, capri pants, fabulous hats, perfect handbags, and of course, the little black dress. I don't know if it was the little black dress complimented by a pair of black gloves and pearls, or her elegance and wit she possessed in the film, but I too wanted to be sitting in front of Tiffanys in a little black dress, gloves, and stellar shades. There is no doubt in my mind, Audrey Hepburn was and is THE "it" girl. She is not only inspiring in the world of fashion, but in the world of women. To sum, I dont want to have Breakfast at Tiffany's; make it breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Florence + the machine

The name is fitting considering my obsession with Italy... but Florence and the machine is an exquisite and floating mix of melody unlike anything you'll ever experience. Florence Welch's soul-inspired voice and indie rock infused melody makes for a liberating listening experience. Recently released in July 2009, Lungs is a dreamy album sure to put you into another world. Relax and float away...
